
Sustainable Public Procurement in the Digital Age
Blended Programme in Rome
on-site week: 10-14 July 2023
The programme aims to provide participants with hints and a direct engagement on how public procurement can be redesigned through digital tools to achieve sustainability goals.
The programme combines:
- self-paced training on the fundamentals in the areas of digital transformation, sustainability, procurement and supply chain management (accessible on Open edX);
- in-person practice-based lectures on how public tenders can be designed and managed to promote sustainability;
- hybrid group work on a public tender simulation started in presence together with the lectures and presented remotely to Public Procurement Authorities.

PARTICIPANTS
- gain practical experience on how public procurement can be redesigned through digital transformation processes
- gain practical experience on how digital transformation can contribute to achieve sustainability
- Interact with public procurement authorities and develop a project work under their supervision
- gain 3 ECTS

PARTICIPANTS' BACKGROUND
The programme is addressed to master-level students with different backgrounds, namely:
- 60% from Management and Economics
- 20% from Data Science/Statistics/Informatics
- 20% from other backgrounds (Law, Political Science, Psychology, etc.)

Coordinator
Cerruti Corrado
Corrado Cerruti is Full Professor in Management at the School of Economics of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. His main research areas relate to procurement/supply chain management, digital transformation and innovation.
He holds an MBA from INSEAD (France) and a PhD in Management from Cranfield University, School of Business (UK).
He is the Director of Proxenter, the research center on public and private procurement and Director of the Bachelor of Arts in “Global Governance” at the School of Economics, University of Rome Tor Vergata.
He is the Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project “ProcToGo – Procurement: digital Tools for sustainable Goals” and, in the past, coordinated several EU projects.
He is in change of Confindustria Assoconsult/Tor Vergata research center on “Management Consulting in Italy” and of the FEACO/Tor Vergata annual report on “Management Consulting in Europe”.
