DCU

Dublin City University

It has significant, demonstrable expertise in the design and delivery of high-quality online provision with 35 years experience in distance education. In 2014, DCU established the National Institute for Digital Learning (NIDL) and has considerable research and development expertise in the areas of learning design, new models of pedagogy, and online and blended delivery. To date, it has developed and delivered credit bearing and non-credit bearing micro-credentials to 70,000 learners globally in conjunction with DCU’s Faculties. Most recently, DCU Business School delivered Ireland’s first national credit-bearing micro-credential in FinTech. More specifically, with respect to the ProcToGo project: in the contents design phase, the NIDL will provide inputs to identify the appropriate methodology approach towards micro-credentials; during the project implementation, the NIDL will contribute, during the first short-term joint staff training event, to expose the teaching staff to contemporary models of teaching and learning, with specific reference to micro-learning and digital credentials; in the dissemination phase, the NIDL will host the final multiplier event (E2).
